Health & Safety Policy Statement
OMI Environmental Solutions (OMI) believes that our employees are our most important asset. Safety is the essence of our management philosophy. OMI’ management believes that each employee has the responsibility to make the safety of our co-workers, the general public, and ourselves a basic concern. This objective is fundamental to the efficient operation of our business.
In the interest of protecting the company and its employees from losses due to accidents, it is the policy of OMI to do everything reasonable to prevent injury and damage to property and the environment. Furthermore, OMI will comply with all applicable local, state and federal regulations relative to employee safety and health.
The Director of Safety and Health, designated by the President of OMI, will be responsible for the development, evaluation and implementation of OMI’ safety program. Safety is the responsibility of every employee in the company and every employee has the responsibility to prevent incidents and injuries by observing established working rules, by following the directions of supervisors and by providing ideas on how our safety efforts might be further strengthened through our C.A.R.E.S. program.
OMI management believes that while risk exists in any job:
- No job is so important that it will be pursued at the sacrifice of safety
- Incidents and injuries are preventable
- Working safely is a condition of employment at OMI
- A job is well done only if it is done safely
