SAFETY OVERVIEW

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

At OMI, our employees are our most valuable resource, and safety is the essence of our management philosophy. Our management team believes that each employee has the responsibility and accountability to make the safety of the general public, ourselves, and our customers a basic concern. This objective is fundamental to the efficient operation of our business.

All employees are required to receive proper training before placed in any situation with knowledge-specific requirements by participating in in-house, web-based, or third-party training based on what makes sense for the situation.

Regulatory compliance is the foundation to safety. Through all aspects of our business, we will comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations relative to our services.

EMPLOYEE SAFETY & TRAINING

OMI requires that all employees receive proper training before they are put in any situation requiring specific knowledge or hazardous situations. We conduct in house training on an as needed basis and also utilize outside training in many areas. Our minimum requirements for OMI employees include Safety Orientation, 40-hr HAZWOPER, Confined Space, Drug and Alcohol Program, and Industrial Safety.

Brief safety messages can be sent at any time via text to OMI employees to get them thinking about safety. We want our employees to know that we care about their well-being and to inform them about what is going on that day specific to safety. The safety text is also used for severe weather information or any important safety messages such as near misses.
